Please note: This is a TEMPORARY repository for SimSub meeting materials and Task Group products. These materials will be transferred to the Traffic Simulation Committee’s website (https://trbsimsub.uta.edu/) once appropriate updates to their website have been made. This is expected late 2022. In the meantime, feel free to peruse the past meeting materials and Task Group activities below.

If you have any questions, would like to be added to SimSub’s e-mail listserv, or would like to be involved in the Task Groups, please contact the Co-Chairs: Chris Melson (cmelson1@lsu.edu) or John Shaw (jwshaw@iastate.edu).

Task Groups

SimSub has established three Task Groups: User Needs, Resources, and Liaison/Outreach. The goals of each Task Group are defined below — along with notes from each of their meetings, and products they are currently developing.

User Needs

  • Goals of this Task Group are to: (1) develop, maintain, or otherwise leverage existing, mechanism(s) to collect user needs and related input, and (2) recommendation actions and venue to address user needs.
  • Their main activity has centered around developing and disseminating an annual survey that identifies primary uses of simulation, analyzed applications, corresponding user needs, and how these change overtime.
  • Feel free to review the results of the survey: (1) as fact-sheet-like summary (recommended) [to the left], (2) results of each question posed in the survey [to the left], and (3) the Excel spreadsheet containing the data and conducted analysis [to the left].

Resources

  • The goal of this Task Group is to develop, maintain, host, or otherwise contribute to existing, “living” library of reference material.
  • Their main activity has been curating a list of existing resources. They have currently developed an outline/structure [to the left] to organize resources — and the necessary tasks/timeline to develop an initial repository [to the left].

Liaison/Outreach

  • Goals of this Task Group are to: (1) provide a forum for information exchange and foster joint efforts, and (2) maintain comprehensive liaison structure.
  • Their activities will include maintaining the SimSub website (delayed until the update of the Traffic Simulation Committee’s website has been completed) and SimSub’s outreach/correspondence.
